Marriage

Mr DENNIS PLUMMER and Miss RACHEL SULLIVAN

The marriage took place on Saturday, July 23, at the Capuchin church, Floriana, between DENNIS, son of the late Mr Dennis Plummer and Mrs Judith Jones of Watford, UK, and RACHEL, daughter of Mr and Mrs Peter J. Sullivan of Sliema. Fr Gordon Refalo officiated at the Nuptial Mass. The witnesses were Mr Robert Jones for the groom, and Mrs Maria Pia Anastasi and Mrs Roberta Zammit Cutajar for the bride. Mr Chris Fox acted as best man. Paul Sullivan was page boy, Jessica Sullivan was the maid of honour, while Philippa Sullivan and Rebekah Satariano were bridesmaids. A reception was held later on the bastions of the Grand Hotel Excelsior. The couple are spending their honeymoon in the Caribbean and will be taking up residence in UK.

Obituary

VASSALLO. On July 22, at home, JOSEPH, aged 62, of Siġġiewi, residing in Mosta, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Rose, his daughter Caroline and her fiance Warren, his brothers and sisters and their families, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8 a.m. for Mosta parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m. followed by interment at Mosta cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

VELLA. On July 22, in Sydney, Australia, TONY passed peacefully away, aged 66. He leaves to mourn his caring wife Lynne, his brothers John and Leo and his wife Anne residing in Dublin, his sister Valerie and her husband Joseph Scicluna, his uncle Frank and his wife Alice of Australia, cousins, nephews and nieces and his many friends in Malta and Australia. Funeral services are being held in Sydney. May the Lord grant him eternal rest.

WARRINGTON. WILLIAM went to meet the Risen Lord on Saturday, July 23, at home, after a long illness borne with Christian fortitude, aged 87. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Lina née Gauci, his children Edward, Anne, Michael, Andrew and Isabel, their spouses and partners, his grandchildren, Nicola, Shannon and Craig, his sister Jeanne Grech Cumbo, his brother Henry and Doris, Vivienne, widow of his late brother Joe, his wife’s brothers and sisters, and numerous nephews and nieces. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. No flowers by request, but donations to the Mission Fund, Mosta, and Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated.
