Pop group Take That have had to cancel a show after Robbie Williams suffered food poisoning, according to the band. In a statement released by the reformed group, Williams became violently ill on Friday night leading them to cancel the gig in Copenhagen, Denmark.

A statement released by the group says: “We are truly devastated to have had to cancel tonight’s show in Denmark. This is the first show that we have ever had to cancel in our career as a band.”

The statement continued: “It was a horrible decision to make and one we agonised over. “On Friday night, Rob suffered serious food poisoning from something he had eaten after the show. He was violently ill all night and well into the morning.

“At 10 a.m. (On Saturday) morning, he decided to relocate to his dressing room at the stadium, in the hope that he could recover and prepare for the show.

“Doctors visited him twice during the day and despite prescribed medication he was still vomiting at 4 p.m. The doctor insisted that he was not fit to perform.”

The statement says that the band made a “group decision” to cancel the show as they felt it was “fairer” to the fans as the tour was about celebrating their reunion.
