AFM finds petard at maritime base

A fireworks petard was found at the maritime base of the Armed Forces of Malta today.

The AFM said that following the weekend feast (at Msida) the Maritime
Squadron conducted a search at Haywharf Base for fireworks' burn debris and any unexploded shells.

An unexploded petard was found and made safe by the AFM's Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit.

The police are investigating.

The petards were let off from the area near the Garden of Repose on the bastions overlooking the maritime base in Floriana.

Close the road; or go another way - I hope St. Joseph prays for you and the rest of your secular friends. How many pedestrians on normal roads near their homes have been almost hit or screamed at - same difference.

FYI @ Kirkop fireworks are let up beside a hydrogen bunker and just meters away from Multigas! How about that?

Move the Yachts out to sea during the fire works so they are safe in that case.

I agree with Mr. Bonello - secondly not everyone can afford a yacht - but those that cannot do deserve to enjoy at least a little entertainment - have a heart and social conscience - let people enjoy the feast and move the boats. Msdiani - please note (for next year).
