Josef Hoffmann had a natural gift for creating beautiful forms and this was exemplified throughout his long career as an architect, designer and draughtsman.

Fifty years in the field of design saw the conditions and nature of his work change profoundly but, fundamentally, Hoffmann’s approach remained the same while simultaneously mirroring the stylistic changes taken place in the field.

The Kubus Collection is comprised of the Kubus Chair, the Kubus three-seater and the Kubus Sofa. The latter is undoubtedly the highlight of the range.

Designed in 1910 for an exhibition celebrating the centennial of Argentina’s independence in Buenos Aires, the Kubus Sofa is one of Hoffmann’s most memorable pieces. As the name suggests, the Kubus Sofa displays the unique geometric lines and cubes that became Hoffmann’s trademark during the early 20th century – the ‘Quadratstil’.

Apart from creating a clear distinction between himself and his contemporaries, Hoffmann’s unique style is regarded as the style that inspired the forerunners of both art deco and the modernist movement. The elegant sofa is made of high-quality hardwood and upholstered in full-grain Italian leather, making it extremely soft to the touch.

Each cube is individually stitched and piped to create a thick body of cushioning that is responsible for the sofa’s comfort as well as its unique silhouette, which brings style to any environment.

Whether you are a Tetris lover, a Josef Hoffmann fan or simply one who appreciates designer furniture, the Kubus sofa is easy to appreciate as a work of art as much as a piece of furniture.

Combining mathematical beauty with a classic design, the Kubus Sofa – the signature Josef Hoffman piece – is the ideal investment for anyone who wants to bring individuality and taste to their space.
