Students and pilgrims

A group of Form 4 students from St Ignatius College Girls Junior Lyceum, Blata l-Bajda, recently took part in an exchange project organised by the Collegio Arcivescovile Celestino Endrici of Trento, Italy.

The project was entitled ‘Pellegrinando: percorsi antichi per pellegrini moderni’ (Pilgrimage: old paths for new pilgrims).

The exchange involved students from Italy, Spain, Germany, Hungary and Malta.

In Trento, the Maltese group was joined by the Hungarian students; Spanish and German students visited Trento earlier in the year.

The Maltese students also participated in the Festa della Scuola Cattolica (Feast of the Catholic School), where students and their relatives took part in a marathon to raise funds for special projects, especially those undertaken in developing countries.

Students attended lessons with the Italian students. They also toured Trento to see the town’s sights, and visited Sirmione on a day-trip.

The Italian students visited Malta last March accompanied by their teachers and were hosted by families in Swieqi.
