The majority of deliveries, 71 per cent, were to married mothers, 24 per cent to single mothers and four per cent were widowed, separated or divorced.
The highest number of deliveries remained within the 25-29 age group.
Almost 32 per cent of births were carried out by Caesarean section and breast feeding remained the most popular choice at discharge.

Jien il-hsieb li jinkwetani mhux in-numru ta' trabi li jitwieldu f'ammont akbar mis-soltu - twins jew triplets. Imma jekk dan hu rizultat ta' tqala assistita jghaddi l-hsieb minn mohhi, minn dawn il-multiple births kien hemm dawk li l-Amerikani jsejhulhom reductions? Dan ifisser li jekk ikun hemm feti aktar minn tlieta li jirnexxu 'inehhu' dawk iz-zejda. Din haga li nispera li ma ssehhx ghax hi haga tal-wahx! Inkunu qeghdin nittrattaw il-hajja umana bhala komodita li jekk ikolli z-zejjed minnha nista' nehles minnha! Nispera li dan il-hsieb tieghi mhux veru jsehh fir-realta.
