The 974 beds at St Luke’s Hospital in 2006 were reduced to 960 at Mater Dei Hospital, going to 981 in 2007, 977 in 2008 and 972 in 2009. Karen Grech Rehabilitation Hospital came on stream in 2007 with 155 beds (153 in 2010).

Beds at St Vincent de Paul Hospital amounted to 1,036 in 2006, 1,064 in 2007, 1,018 in 2008, 1,137 in 2009 and 1,128 in 2010. Mount Carmel Hospital went from 600 in 2006 and 2007 to 690 in 2008 to 655 in 2009 and 2010.

Sir Paul Boffa and Zammit Clapp Hospitals remained constant with 51 and 60 beds respectively.
