Clive Farrugia produced an almost flawless display in the opening two rounds of the skeet event at the ISSF World Cup in Maribor, Slovenia yesterday.

The talented Maltese shooter began impressively, firing a straight in the first round before almost repeating the feat in the second only to miss his 13th clay for 24 from 25 points for an overall score of 40/50.

Farrugia is competing against 135 shooters which include former Olympic medallists and world champions. During the opening two rounds of competition, several shooters recorded perfect scores of 25.

The competition continues today with another three rounds of 25 clays each. At the end of the first phase, the top six shooters will qualify for the final barrage.
