California-based Entone has congratulated GO on the launch of its exciting TV over broadband service, Go interactive tv, which provides video on demand using Entone equipment.

Go interactive TV will start to be installed in customers’ homes in the coming weeks following a very successful launch at the Trade Fair, Go said in a statement.

Entone is the market leader in the provision of IP and interactive online customer premises equipment, which is already used by over 100 of the world’s leading service operators. Go has selected Entone’s Kamai™ Set Top Box for Go’s interactive TV, which will be offering free video-on-demand as from launch, enabling customers to watch favourite shows and films from the previous seven days.

“We needed a reliable and flexible platform for delivering high-quality video services while enabling us to expand our service offering to include high-definition TV, recording and web applications,” said Kelvin Camenzuli, senior manager at Go. “Because Entone’s Kamai is fully integrated with our interactive TV middleware and DRM (digital rights management) system, we can instantly introduce further new services without costly equipment replacement or having to disturb our customers.”

Kamai makes installation and set up hassle-free. It easily integrates with existing home networks and broadband services via its integrated Ethernet connection.

Kamai’s USB port also means that Go can offer digital video recorder services while providing subscribers convenient storage options. It is also compatible with cloud-based media and applications.

“We commend Go for the vision and drive behind their aggressive plans for deploying a compelling video service offering,” said Bart Vanderostyne, Entone’s director of EMEA sales and operations. “We are pleased to partner with Go as they continue to accelerate their IPTV deployment and look forward to supporting them as they roll out other new emerging services to their growing subscriber base.”
