A young child was evacuated from a Spanish vessel to Mater Dei Hospital this morning.

The Armed Forces of Malta said in a statement that the medical evacuation was requested just after 10 a.m.

The AFM, together with other local and foreign authorities, coordinated the evacuation that was carried out by a Spanish helicopter from onboard the vessel.

The helicopter landed at Malta International Airport at 11.45 a.m., from where from the casualty was taken to hospital by ambulance.
