Gokhan Inler was unveiled today as a Napoli player after completing his move from Udinese for an undisclosed fee.

The Switzerland international was instrumental in helping Udinese finish fourth in Serie A last season, making 33 appearances for the north-east club.

Inler, 27, was linked with a move to Arsenal and Juventus but was happy to join Napoli, who will play in the Champions League in 2011/12.

“I have signed and I am excited,” said Inler. “I can’t wait to meet coach Walter Mazzarri, the staff and my new team-mates.

“I want to thank Udinese and the people of Udine, who will be in my heart forever.

“I could not turn down a chance to join Napoli and I promise to give my best for this club.

“We will play in three competitions and we will try to win all three titles.

“I have come to Napoli to win.

“I dream of the Scudetto, the Champions league and the Coppa Italia.”
