Jonathan Zammit, 25 of St Paul's Bay, today pleaded not guilty to having assaulted a police inspector, a sergeant and three constables on Saturday night in Mosta square and later in the police station.
He also denied having attempted to seriously injure policemen by driving a Mercedes in a dangerous manner.
Inspector Edmund Cuschieri said that Mr Zammit had called at the police station with his girlfriend. The two proceeded to make reports against each other, but then decided to make up, and they left.
Meanwhile, a policeman noted that Mr Zammit's car was illegally parked and fined him. At this point Mr Zammit lost his temper and started threatening the officer. When other officers came out of the police station to see what was happening, Mr Zammit got into his car and drove dangerously at them.
Magistrate Anthony Micallef Trigona remanded the accused in custody.
