Thefts from cemeteries
I think it is proper that appreciation is expressed to the Police Force and to those directly involved in the investigation of the thefts and subsequent recovery of the stolen items from the Addolorata and Gudja cemeteries.
Although a considerable number of these items were damaged beyond repair during the despicable act of wrenching them from the gravestones, it is not so much the items themselves which count, but rather the message that comes across, that crime should not be committed with impunity.
