John Guillaumier’s letter aboutthe triumph of secularism(The Sunday Times, June 19) reminds me of the wording on aT-shirt popular in the US. Itgoes like this: ‘God is dead’ –Nietzsche. ‘Nietzsche is dead’ –God.

‘Voltaire’ can also safely replace the German philosopher’s name.
