Major drug haul in St Julians

A 27-year-old man from Qormi will today be charged with drug trafficking and conspiracy to traffic drugs following a find of cannabis resin and ecstasy pills in St Julians yesterday.

The drug squad seized the drugs following weeks of observation on the man’s movements, the police said. A body search yielded 250g of cannabis and a capsule of cocaine.

In a subsequent search at the man’s garage, the police said they found 15 kilos of cannabis resin, 537 ecstasy pills and 10g of cocaine.

Duty Magistrate Antonio Mizzi was informed and he appointed a number of court experts to assist him in an inquiry on the case.
