Lufthansa Technik Malta CEO Louis Giordimaina has decided to retire but will remain as director supporting the company in dealing with government relations and business development.
Lufthansa Technik said Mr Giordimaina was instrumental in the setting up and running of the company since it started 10 years ago and later spearheaded its expansion in his role as CEO.
This was recognised by Thomas Steuger, an executive board member of Lufthansa Technik AG, mother company of Lufthansa Technik Malta. He acknowledged that the company would not have existed without Mr Giordimaina’s “tremendous personal commitment”.
The benefits of his achievements were not just with Lufthansa Technik itself but with the Maltese economy too, he said, adding that his leadership reaped very positive results for the company as evidenced by the quality of service given to customers, the development of the labour force and the growth in operations.
The company has recently completed its 600th aircraft maintenance check since starting operations in January 2003. It employs 600 people. Lufthansa Technik will be announcing Mr Giordimaina’s successor in due course.
He retires with effect from September 1.
