Photograph of mother and baby

The article entitled Helping Mothers Back To Work Essential In Fight Against Poverty, which appeared on page 6 on May 14, 2011, featured a photograph of a mother feeding her new-born child.

The publication of the photograph was objected to on grounds that consent therefor was granted in an entirely different context. The Times contends that such consent did not exclude any other use of the photograph. Nonetheless, The Times regrets this incident and apologises for any inconvenience that may have been caused.
