Corinthia names new GM for Marina Hotel

CHI Hotels & Resorts has named Reuben Mifsud general manager of the Marina Hotel at the Corinthia Beach Resort, St Julians.

Mr Mifsud, who has been with CHI since 2000, brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having honed his management skills as director of operations at the Corinthia Hotel Tripoli, where he was responsible for all sales and marketing activities.

He previously held various senior management roles, including director of human resources at the Corinthia Tripoli and acting general manager of the CHI-operated Panorama Hotel in Prague. He has also spearheaded a number of hotel pre-openings.

“Reuben has done a terrific job for us in Tripoli and other CHI hotels over the past 10 years and his new appointment is therefore a natural progression to our top management team. He is experienced and multi-talented and we are fully confident that he will relish his challenging new role,” CHI chief executive officer and managing director Tony Potter said.

Mr Mifsud holds a higher national diploma in hospitality studies from the Institute of Tourism Studies in Malta and is a University of Malta graduate in tourism management.

Operated by CHI Hotels and Resorts, the Marina Hotel forms part of the Corinthia Beach Resort, along with the adjoining five-star Corinthia Hotel St George’s Bay.
