Aguero to decide after Copa America

Sergio Aguero has confirmed he has received an offer from Juventus but insists his future will only be decided after the Copa America. The Argentina international announced last month his wish to leave Atletico Madrid and is being linked with a move to either Manchester City or Juventus.

“I am aware of Juve’s offer but only when the Copa is over will my future destination be known,” Aguero said.

“There are negotiations going on with the Italian club but I don’t know how many millions they have offered for my services.

“These are things that only my agents know. My only focus right now is on the Copa America.”

Salihamidzic agrees to Wolfsburg move

Wolfsburg yesterday completed the free transfer signing of experienced midfielder Hasan Salihamidzic. The 34-year-old has spent the past four years at Juventus.

A move to the Volkswagen Arena will reunite him for a third time with Wolfsburg boss Felix Magath, under whom he worked at Hamburg and Bayern.

“For me it was clear that after Bayern and Juve, not every club would come into consideration,” he said.

“But Felix Magath gave me the chance to play football and for that reason it was clear to me that I would do this. Here I am part of an interesting project that Magath has built up.”

No offers for Lavezzi so far

Ezequiel Lavezzi has yet to receive a good enough offer to leave Napoli this summer, according to the player’s agent.

The Argentina striker has been strongly linked with a move to the English Premier League, with Manchester City and Liverpool among the clubs keen to acquire his services.

“Lavezzi will not move unless an important offer arrives,” agent Alejandro Mazzoni said.

“At this time, there are none.”

The 26-year-old forward, who is also a reported target of Barce-lona, is under contract with Napoli until June 2015.

Roma confident on Krkic deal

Roma are confident they will complete the signing of Barcelona forward Bojan Krkic in the next 24 hours. The Serie A club already reached an agreement with the 20-year-old last month but the deal has yet to be finalised.

Reports in England claimed that Tottenham were ready to make an attempt to prise the young Spaniard from Roma.

However, Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini said: “We have a complete agreement with the player.

“We still have to sort out some details with Barcelona but there will be no problems. The transfer could be completed this week, I am optimistic.”

Heynckes serves Ribery warning

New Bayern Munich boss Jupp Heynckes has warned Franck Ribery he will not receive any special treatment this season.

Ribery was disappointing in 2010/11 with injuries affecting his performances as Bayern could only manage a third-placed finish in the Bundesliga.

That relative failure led to the departure of Louis van Gaal and the arrival, for a third spell at Bayern, of Heynckes.

The 66-year-old said: “In today’s football, the team needs to function as one, particularly defensively. Franck Ribery must be integrated into that like any other player.

“He must realise that he needs to improve his game, just like (Thomas) Muller, (Mario) Gomez, (Bastian) Schweinsteiger, (Philipp) Lahm and the rest.”

Inter complete Alvarez transfer

Inter have reportedly wrapped up a deal to sign Argentine Ricky Alvarez from Velez Sarsfield.

The Nerazzurri have intensely been tracking the South American in the past few weeks and a deal seems to have been struck.

Alvarez will reportedly move to the San Siro in a switch that will eventually cost the Italian club €13.7m.

The 23-year-old attacking midfielder will sign a five-year contract that will reportedly be worth €1.8m a season.

Hazard happy to stay at Lille

Lille coach Rudi Garcia has hinted highly-rated midfielder Eden Hazard is happy to stay with the French champions despite specu-lation linking him to some of Europe’s top clubs.

The 20-year-old has reportedly found himself the subject of interest from Inter, Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Paris SG this summer.

But Garcia insists he is focused on the task in hand at Lille, while admitting a move cannot be ruled out.

“During his holiday, he was far away from all the hype,” Garcia said.

“He is feeling good, and like the others, he wants to build on what we achieved last season. He is happy with us and knows there are challenges for him here.”
