I wish to draw Transport Malta’s attention to the fact that Tigné seafront and Qui-si-sana seafront have not yet been served with much needed bus stops on the route going to St Julian’s.

They are actually badly needed in both directions of the seafront to serve travellers heading for and returning from Valletta. Coming from Valletta, buses drive up Tower Road and passengers are dropped off at the Strand or Għar id-Dud, which is a far cry from encouraging us to leave our cars at home.

There should always have been a bus stop near the HSBC branch, right in the shopping centre, instead of the fountain. Along Tigné seafront and Qui-si-sana seafront, at least three bus stops are needed: near Bonavia’s printing press, another right after the new tunnel (close to Ġnien Bonello DuPuis) and a third just before entering Tower Road.

This route is totally exposed to the sun at high noon and walking is no option, especially if carrying shopping bags. In the meantime, the Sliema council has still not relieved residents of the parking nightmare and partial residential parking is still a dream.
