Feast of St John
The feast of St John the Baptist was marked by a traditional event at St John’s Demi-Bastion in Victoria on June 24. The evening included a cultural tour of places related to the saint and the Knights of Malta, followed by a re-enactment by the Xagħra Historical Re-enactment Organisation, folk dancing and singing and a traditional meal. A bonfire (Il-Ħġejjeġ ta’ San Ġwann) was lit at the Citadel bastions.
