Another successful Isle of MTV
A crowd of more than 40,000 people had a whale of a time on the Granaries in Floriana yesterday during the Isle of MTV concert.
This year's artists included Parade, chart-topping LMFAO, hip-hop and pop band Far East Movement and Snoop Dogg.

How many drinks did you need to enjoy what snoop dog did ... and be honest!!
Well i have to comment on this just cause you didn't enjoy it well that's you as for me i don't drink and i did enjoy Snoops performance. as for being young only for the youth i am 44 and enjoy it.I been reading over the comments why is every1 complaining bout a free concert. what you not get free is free the only thing you paid is for your time that's it. We should be complaining about the direspect that ATP drivers gave us after so many years of us supporting them come on two half hours waiting to get a buss to go to Isle Of Mtv

I didn’t like Snoop Dogg’s behaviour towards the TOM journalist on Snoop Dogg’s four hour long wait for his press conference. He created many valid enemies with that kind of attitude, he needs the media.
Snoop Dogg is a great showman , but if he’s fifteen minutes late on the stage he will lose it all.
The bigger they are the harder they fall.

Snoop's debut album Doggystyle, was released in 1993 under Death Row Records debuting at No.1 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and R&B charts. Selling almost a million copies in the first week of its release, Doggystyle quickly became certified quadruple platinum in 1994
... I bet all you people who stayed home on the computer mocking the event instead of attending the event and enjoying it (I didn't like any of the artists but still had a great time) can achieve such stuff in the prime of your careers. Also its 2011 and hes still touring the world....Facts speak for themselves

Amazed by foolish comments. Seriously We're so proud that we're a free country, where no one can't even tolerate another individual's music liking!

If you call this music, we have forgotten what real music is! Altough i like rock music and I don't like classical music or folk/country I consider them of much higher level. Tell me in 20 years time if you still hear this music. Unlike other super groups and brilliant music, endless list....Eagles,Genesis, Dire Straits, Led Zeppelin, PInk Floyd, Beatles, Rolling Stones and much more. Tonio

This is the first Isle of MTV I attended and was really looking forward to it having heard so much about previous events. Unfortuntely I was dissappointed. I enjoyed the company we were in and thank God for that as I was not impressed by woof woof as someone called him (love it lol). One thing Malta will NEVER learn is that these things need much better organisation - TRANSPORTATION is the most important thing for any event - all buses were full and we walked it from St. Venera to Floriana to make it to the concert....glad I thought about leaving my car in floriana the night before as God knows what the buses would have been like on the way back!

Nobody can say what real music is - to some it is Mozart and Bach, to some it's Metallica and Pink Floyd and to others it is Snoop Dogg and Eminem. So don't tell others that the kind of music you like is real music because it's not. I am a classical music lover, but yesterday I went to Isle of MTV and enjoyed it very much even though I didn't know one of the songs. The traffic afterwards was outrageous though, it took me 45 minutes from just MCP car park to Bieb il-Bombi!

It is simply unbelievable that no matter what happens in Malta some one still has to grumble, some people are even grumbling because this concert is free of charge? Would you believe it? The hatred some people have to practically anything is simply unbelievable, get a life will you?
I was one of the many ravelers for the Isle of MTV and I must say a BIG well done to any one involved, stage, lighting, sound, police force, security and any one that gave a contribution for this event to happen practically without any hitches!
Apart for the concert to be a great marketing tool for Malta, all the tourists and students that are at the moment in Malta could also enjoy this event further enhancing their stay in Malta. Nowadays numerous high quality events are organized by private organizers and companies which are very good but against an obvious payment.
The Isle of MTV is the only musical event that highlights international artists without the audience having to pay a dime so thumbs up to the government on this one and hoping that the Isle of MTV or something similar to it will keep on happening!

Just like I said in another isle of mtv-related article yesterday:
"I sometimes work at night. Due to the 3rd world-rate transport system and all the morons hogging the buses, I couldn't get to work last night.
Who is going to compensate me for the gross irresponsibility carried out by the organisers, ministry of tourism etc.
Imbasta kullhadd jizatatt, imbaghad mahna kapaci norganizzaw xejn sura ta' nies."
This event should either be organized properly and down to the letter (like foreign musical festivals in first world countries) or scrapped altogether.....
To the people who are most likely going to criticize what i just said: I don't care.
Mr Joseph Aquilina
Jul 1st 2011, 16:23
Agree with you. That is why the title is erroneous - it was NOT a success considering the fact that many Maltese who couldn't care less about Isle of MTV had to pass hell on earth in order to do their daily job!!! Some will criticize comments like this saying Maltese criticize everything ... but I am sure that those some did not have to wait for hours in their car in order to go to work and therefore cannot understand the other effects that this concert had to the Maltese economy.

Where are all the Snoop haters now? If he should be accused of anything it should be nearly staring the place on fire he was so hot last night!! By far the best act of all Isle of MTV's and one of the best performances this island has seen....EVER.
I wonder if Eros Ramazzoti ever says something like what Snoop said to a journalist would he recieve the same backlashing? Hardly.....it seems that some people needed to get their racist side out and hide behind the cover of him being arrogant.
Well done Snoop, and YOU ARE WELCOME BACK TO MALTA - ANYTIME!!!

it's not hate; it's decency. No one sually arrives at our airport with no shirt or other clothing. And it's not good manners talking to reporters the way that it was reported that he did. In respect of him giving a good performance, that is what he got paid for and what was expected of him.

Mr Attard if you were really so impressed by snoopy, then you must not have attended a lot of concerts anywhere else. Why not try the next concert given by Mr Joseph Calleja and Carlos Santana. I suggest you borrow the money and go see some real talent. I don't have to tell you what a great talent Joseph Calleja is but I can assure you that Carlos Santana is a lot more talented and a lot more gentleman and showman than snoopy will ever be, and he don't even have to insult the Maltese Media because as he put it "he is a superstar". He might be a superstar but he has no class. Maltese people are not too impressed by anyone shredding of his shirt soon as he arrives at MIA. It looks like snoopy is in dire need of personal attention to boost his ego. He owes the Maltese people an apology for such arrogance. (hoss fl-ilma). "YOU ARE WELCOME BACK TO MALTA - ANYTIME!!! Who made you Ambassador of Malta? Speak for yourself. Otherwise glad you enjoyed the show.
