The little red car is back. And so are the twelve tenors and sopranos who come out of this well-amplified mini to give us lovely renditions of classic pieces.
Following last year's success, the mini-gig will be touring main squares in Malta and Gozo with the aim of promoting the beauty of classical music.
"We want to show everyone that classical music is fun and we want to make is as accessible as possible to everyone," said soprano Francesca Aquilina.
As of this weekend, the mini will be driving into six different locations, and the general public is invited - for free – to enjoy the classical concert, sponsored by Dhalia, Bank of Valletta and Vodafone.
Artists Rosetta Debattista and Denise Mulholland, the brains behind this outreach musical programme, said that this year the concerts will be even longer: "The mini-gig was so well received last year that we decide to go for an almost hour-long concert this time round," they said.
The mini-gig will be touring the following locations:
Saturday July 2: Vittoriosa square, Vittoriosa, 7pm
Sunday July 3: Balluta Bay, St. Julians, 7pm
Friday July 8: Auberge de Castille, Valletta, 7pm (booking on tel.2200 1464)
Saturday July 9: Bastion Square, Mdina, 6pm
Sunday July 10: Parish Square, M'Xlokk, 10am
