GRTU welcomes new parking arrangements at Tigne

The GRTU has welcomed the return of parking spaces at Tigne to the community.

A total of 62 parking spaces, next to the Ferries, were to be removed to be replaced with bus lanes after Arriva had to reroute its service when Bisazza Street was pedestrianised.

However, according to new arrangements, the existing parking spots were to be reduced by 20.

The GRTU expressed satisfaction that the Resources Ministry took on its suggestions and said it was confident that positive consultation would lead to many more improvements in the zone.

It said it was also satisfied that Arriva, through the support of the Transport Ministry, was serving the locality with excellent public transport connections with good stops for shopping and without disturbing the parking system in the area.
