Parliament will meet again this morning and start a two-sitting debate on the 2011 estimates of the Water Services Corporation, thus bringing to a close the debates on the budgets of eight government corporations, agencies and authorities.

At the end of this evening’s sitting, members will vote to approve the estimates of the Employment and Training Corporation, Heritage Malta and the Superintendence of Cultural Heritage, the Malta Tourism Authority, the Malta Environment and Planning Authority, the Occupational Health and Safety Authority, the Housing Authority, Enemalta Corporation and WSC.

The House is expected to meet again on Monday to start the debate in second reading of the Civil Code (Amendment) Bill, commonly known as the Divorce Bill, jointly introduced as a Private Member’s Bill by Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando (PN) and Evarist Bartolo (PL). The debate will end on July 13 when members vote to approve or otherwise the second reading and pass the Bill to the Standing Committee for Consideration of Bills.

During yesterday’s sittings, the House unanimously approved the first reading of the Bill amending the Notarial Profession and the Notarial Archives Act and the third reading of the Building Regulations Bill.
