The 16th edition of the National Cinema Day, organised by KRS Film Distributors, with the collaboration of the cinema exhibitors throughout Malta and Gozo, is set to be held on Saturday, July 9.
The schedule of films showing on the day feature no fewer than 10 blockbuster releases ranging from sci-fi thrillers, comedies and animation to action drama and adventures. The following are some of the films which picturegoers can watch and enjoy at a reduced admission price. The price of films shown in 3D are slightly higher: The Bridesmaids, Bad Teacher, Diary Of A Wimpy Kid 2, Transformers: Dark Of The Moon, Green Lantern, Something Borrowed, Kung Fu Panda 2, X-Men: First Class, Pirates Of The Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides, Fast And Furious 5, and The Hangover 2.
Film shows at all the following cinemas commence at 9 a.m. and run until late night: Eden Cinemas, St Julians, Embassy Cinemas, Valletta, Empire Cinemas, Buġibba.
The screening of films at the Citadel Cinema in Gozo will be at 6 p.m. and 8.30 p.m.
Booking for the films showing on National Cinema Day will open at all cinemas on Friday.
