Internationally renowned economists from Europe and the US travelled to Malta for the National Bureau of Economic Research’s 34th International Seminar on Macroeconomics earlier this month.
Hosted by the Central Bank of Malta, the seminar saw the participation of illustrious economists such as Prof. Francesco Giavazzi and Prof. Andrew Rose.
A wide range of papers were presented, featuring the latest research and some of the most current trends in macroeconomics.
The seminar was organised and co-ordinated by Prof. Jeffrey A. Frankel from Harvard’s Kennedy School and Prof. Christopher Pissarides from the London School of Economics.
During an official dinner hosted by the Central Bank, Governor Michael Bonello spoke about policy challenges of euro adoption for small open economies.
