D’Onofrio: Luciano D’Onofrio, ex-agent of players including Zinedine Zidane and formerly vice-president of Standard Liege, has been charged with money laundering. D’Onofrio was ordered to serve a six-month jail sentence by a French court in October 2007 over suspicious transfer dealings involving French club Marseille, but has not served his sentence.

Ganso: Brazilian midfielder Ganso has revealed his desire to play for Milan next season. The Santos star is a target of top European clubs, including the Rossoneri, Chelsea and Real Madrid. In an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, Ganso said: “My dream is to beat (Lionel) Messi’s Barcelona in the FIFA Club World Cup (in December) and then join Milan in January.”

Deadly crash: Costa Rica defender Dennis Marshall was one of two people killed in a crash in the mountains near San Jose, Costa Rica. Marshall, and a female travelling with him, were killed when their car collided head on with a truck.

Edmilson: Urawa Red Diamonds said their Brazilian striker Edmilson has signed for Qatar’s Al Gharafa. The 28-year-old forward, who has scored 109 goals in 226 games, will sign a three-year contract.

Bain: Martin Bain resigned as chief executive of Rangers yesterday after confirming he intended to take legal action against his old employers. Both Bain and fellow Rangers director Donald McIntyre were suspended by the club last month pending an internal inquiry.
