Around 20 people gathered in Paceville this evening to commemmorate the death of Suleiman Ismail Abubaker, who was killed after an aggression that took place in Paceville in June two years ago.

Suleiman was punched in the face by a club security after being refused entry to a night-club. He was then kicked while lying on the ground by three passers-by unknown to him.

Although two years have passed from his death, many clubs in Paceville still refused entry to African migrants, the Migrants' Network for Equality, which organised the vigil said.

It said that the problem of racism was not confined to Paceville. While immigrants in Malta found many people who understood them and treated them equally, they also faced discrimination in their everyday life, and some incidents led to violent racism.
