The International Festival of Arts will tonight present Teatro Potlach's Edith Piaf – a journey in the famous French singer's life and times – French gangsters, women in love, passions, dreams, memories...

Piaf's life was astride the huge upheavals which Europe went through in the 30s and 50s – the horrors of war and the exciting defiance of artists like Charlie Chaplin, De Sica, Fellini, Jean Cocteau, Jacques Prévert... the struggle for life – and for love. Teatro Potlach, one of the top theatre companies in Eugenio Barba's Odin Teatret circle, entrusts actress Nathalie Mentha with the task of weaving this rich tapestry, using the threads of the life, loves and songs of Edith Piaf. Mentha is on her second visit to Malta, having performed Viva La Vita, on the life of Frida Kahlo in 2008.

Booking is open at St James Cavalier, both at the box-office and online. The performance starts at 9pm
