Traffic chaos: should we all take the bus? (2)
Well, yet another week of major traffic jams and not one traffic policeman seen to be directing traffic!
There is a strong need of proper policing of the roads. Whenever there are any small roadworks, traffic piles up for miles around and yet the simplest of control from our boys in blue would solve the problem in no time. However, all they do is stand there in their glasses sneaking a cigarette and trying to look good! The fiasco at Bir id-Deheb roundabout could have been solved by diverting the traffic but no, five Transport Malta men standing around (most probably on double time as it was a Saturday) and no police!
Delays in traffic means loss of work! No amount of new buses are going to solve the delays yet proper policing by trained policemen will! Please members of Parliament, remember who actually gave you your jobs and start looking after the people who pay your wages!

I saw this on the BBC webpage today bout the forthcoming bus changeover. This refers to the scene at the Triton Fountain.
"As well as the crowds of Maltese commuters that could be seen thrusting their way around the vehicles (office workers, school children, elderly nuns), I also noticed a good number of nerdy-looking tourists who were photographing the buses, recording mysterious details in little notebooks and generally getting in the way."
"Nerdy-looking tourists"- I like that!

"not one traffic policeman seen to be directing traffic! " Why do you want to make things worse than they are?
