Johann Said is set to be confirmed as Floriana FC president after being re-elected to the committee at the conclusion of the Premier Leauge club’s annual general meeting yesterday.

During the first part of the AGM, held earlier this month, Said, who led the Greens to success in the FA Trophy in his first year as club president last season, submitted a number of proposals with the aim of strengthening the admini-stration of Floriana FC.

The annual general meeting, held on June 11, was adjourned until June 22 as Said, who had not initially filed his nomination for the committee election, called on former club officials, especially those whose served as president, to come forward and rejoin the committee.

Said’s appeal has been heeded as former officials like ex-president Hugh Peralta and Julian Holland were elected to the committee for season 2011/12.

The other members elected to the Greens’ committee until the time of writing were Peter Agius, Damien Camilleri, Frank Camilleri, Clayton Debattista, Mark Frendo, Steve Galea and Anthony Stellini.

Said is expected to be confirmed as Floriana president at the first meeting of the new committee which will be held in the coming days.
