La Fête de la Musique was held in Valletta yesterday to celebrate the longest day of the year through music. Local and foreign performers included the AFM and Police Force bands, Matthieu Chédid, Ira Losco, and the Mark Spiteri Lucas Band. The event was organised by the Tourism Parliamentary Secretariat, the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts, the Malta Tourism Authority and the French Embassy. This annual event originated in France in 1981.
