Ujfalusi: Former Czech inter-national defender Tomas Ujfalusi has joined Galatasaray on a two-year deal from Atletico Madrid. The contract contains an option for an extra season.

Twente: Twente have agreed a deal in principle for Co Adriaanse to take charge of the club from next season. Chairman Joop Munster-man confirmed the news yesterday following speculation linking the former AZ Alkmaar coach with the vacancy.

Gomes: Saudi Arabia’s federation announced they had decided not to appoint Ricardo Gomes as coach of the national side after failing to reach agreement over his contract start date. The Brazilian had requested to push back his arrival in the Middle East in order to respect the terms of his contract with current club Vasco da Gama.

Gera: West Brom are to hold further talks with former midfielder Zoltan Gera about a possible return to the Hawthorns. Gera, who spent four years with the Baggies during his first spell, is out of contract at Fulham. Albion held initial discussions with the Hungary international a fortnight ago and the 32-year-old is due to undergo a second round of negotiations later this week.

Liverpool: Liverpool will con-clude their pre-season with a friendly against Valencia at Anfield on August 6. Kenny Dalglish’s side face other warm-up games against Chinese side Guangdong on July 13, a Malaysia XI on July 16 and Norway’s Valerenga on August 1.

Rangers: Martin Bain has in-structed his lawyers to open legal proceedings against Rangers. Bain and fellow director Donald McIn-tyre were suspended last month pending an internal inquiry. That development followed the removal from the board of chairman Alastair Johnston in the wake of new owner Craig Whyte’s takeover of the Scot-tish champions.

Henry: Thierry Henry scored and was then sent off as New York Red Bulls came from two goals down to draw 3-3 at Portland Timbers. Henry scored in the 73rd minute to get the Eastern Conference leaders back in the game at 3-2, but was dismissed in the 90th minute with Dwayne de Rosario converting a penalty to earn the Bulls a point.

Obinna: Nigerian forward Victor Obinna has joined top Russian club Lokomotiv Moscow on a four-year deal. The 24-year-old striker has moved to Russia as a free player after Inter did not activate a clause on his contract that would have kept him at the San Siro.
