Man admits setting his house on fire after domestic argument
A man who set fire to his own home after an argument with his wife was today condemned to a suspended jail term of two years and fined €5,000.
Anthony Cilia, of Siggiewi, admitted in court that he started smashing up things at his home following an argument with his wife in the evening of May 16, 2008.
He then splashed flammable liquid on various parts of the house and set a sofa on fire. Fortunately the flames did not spread.
The man also admitted having assaulted his son and smashed showcases which belonged to his son.
Dr Emanuel Mallia was defence counsel.

Was it 'his home' or 'their home'? And would then the family be expected to continue to share a house with such a.....'person'? Have we invested in professional prosecutors yet?

Why wasn't he given mandatory anger management therapy? Smashing your own child's showcases... that you don't do out of anger, but purely to inflict emotional pain (apart from the physical pain he had inflicted).
