Some bright spark has granted a permit for a tower crane to be erected in the car park at the Ferries in Sliema without bothering to ascertain where it was going to stand or whether or not it was going to cause inconvenience to the public.

The crane was erected at the end of the pedestrian crossing leading to the car park, the only pedestrian crossing in the area, rendering it totally unusable and, to add insult to injury, it was erected slap bang on the only two parking spaces for the disabled available in the area.
