With an equal shareholding, the car dealership operations of United Group and Tumas Group will merge into a new company, Cars International Ltd, putting both companies in a better position to bring clients a wider choice and better service.

Cars International Ltd will, from July 1, represent the following brands: Opel, Saab, KIA, DFM Trucks and Goodyear Tyres.

“This joint venture will enable us to offer our clientele a greater choice,” Cars International director Edmund Gatt Baldachino said.

“The KIA brand offers an enticing range of models which, together with Opel’s popular line-up, will create an unmatched product offering. Our synergies will also be reflected in our after-sales expertise, assuring clients of constant and consistent support throughout the lifetime of their vehicle.”

Operations related to vehicle sales and servicing will also be amalgamated shortly.

Both companies are committed to avoiding disruption to both current and future clients.

By the end of summer, Cars International Ltd will inaugurate its new showroom in Qormi, where the company’s full portfolio of brands will be showcased.

This range will feature budget models starting at around €8,500, as well as the Saab 9-5, currently one of the most luxurious premium vehicles on the market.

“We are confident that the strengths of United Group, combined with those of the Tumas Group within the automotive industry, will give us the leading edge to meet an evolving and challenging marketplace,” George Fenech, director of Cars International, said. Clients may view Opel and Saab in Ta’ Xbiex and KIA in Qormi.

Servicing and Parts Sales remain in operation at their current locations.
