Crewman airlifted to hospital
An AFM Alouette helicopter this afternoon airlifted to hospital a 26-year-old Pole who
fell ill on board a container ship 45 miles off Malta.
The Liberian registered MV Maersk Karlskrona requested medical evacuation when it
was sailing north east of Grand Harbour shortly before noon.
The crewman - a third officer - was suffering pain in his groin. He was winched up to
the helicopter and flown to Mater Dai Hospital for treatment.
