Obituary

BONNICI. On June 16, at Mater Dei Hospital, THERESA, aged 75, from Ħamrun, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Monica and her husband Carmel Debono, Giorgette and her æhusband Martin Grech, Pierre and his wife Marita, Liliana and her husband Joseph Seitzs, her sister Emilja Camenzuli, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 2 p.m. for St Cajetan parish church, Ħamrun, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m. followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors at home. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

DINGLI. On June 16, CARMELO, aged 78, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. Sadly missed by his beloved wife Vanna, his daughter Suzanne and her husband Laurence Ciappara, his son Paul and his wife Bernadette, his grandchildren Caroline and her husband Ian Anastasi, Steven and his wife Wendy, David and his fiancée Claire, Denise and her fiancé Joseph and Darren, his great-grandchildren Francesca and Michela, his sister Catherine and her husband Joe Mamo, his brother Joseph and wife Margaret, Mary, widow of his brother the late Dr Francis Dingli, nephews and nieces including those of his late brother Saviour, his brother-in-law Anthony Caruana and his wife Mary, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8.30 a.m. for Attard parish church where Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. followed by interment at Attard Cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

MARTIN. On June 15, CONSTANTINE LIONEL, ex-Cable & Wireless, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of the Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Connie, his sons Christopher and Jenny, Andrew and James, his grandchildren Max and Holly, his brother Joe Martin, his sisters Blanche and May Martin, Terry Muscat Fenech and Doris, wife of Alexander Cachia Zammit, in-laws, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated today at 2 p.m. at the Carmelite parish church, Balluta, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

VELLA. On June 15, at Mater Dei Hospital, CARMEN, widow of Anthony, aged 85, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family and comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She will be sadly missed by her seven children, Carmen, widow of Joseph Grima, Ronnie and his wife Sue, Anthony and his wife Miriam, Josette and her husband Joe, Natalie and her husband Brian, John and his wife Marcelle and Susan and her husband Raymond, grandchildren, family members and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 8.30 a.m. for Attard parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9 a.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Radju Marija, Rabat, will be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

PACE BARDON – WILFRED. In loving memory of our dear father, today the 10th anniversary of his death. Fondly remembered by his sons Godwin and Mona, Adrian and Theresa, and his grandchildren Claire, Gavin and Matthew. Always in our thoughts and prayers. May he rest in peace.

WARRINGTON. In loving memory of our dear father LEWIS, today the second anniversary of his passing away. Lovingly remembered by his sons Eugene and Adrian, in-laws and grandchildren. Always in our thoughts and prayers.

Military Tattoo

The 8th Malta Military Tattoo will be held at the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre in Ta’ Qali, on October 8 and 9. Tickets are on sale and are selling very fast. At €20 and €30, they can be bought online through www.ticketline.com.mt or by e-mail on booking@maltamilitary­tattoo.org.

Ecumenical Service For Refugees

A special waterfront ecumenical service will be held today at 7 p.m. at Quarry Wharf, Valletta, to remember those who died on their journey to freedom out of Africa into Malta.

The service is organised by the Jesuit Refugee Service, St Andrew Scots Church and the German Andreasgemeinde.

Led by Fr Joe Cassar SJ, Rev Doug McRoberts, and Pastor Wilfried Stein it will include an Act of Remembrance. This ecumenical service is open to all Christians and other faiths and marks the start of World Refugee Day events in Malta.

Fundraising Concert

A fundraising concert will be held on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Holy Trinity Church, Rudolph Street, Sliema, the proceeds of which will go to the chaplaincy fund. For more information contact George Saliba on 7928 1502 or 2122 0176.
