MEP Louis Grech will explain the objectives behind the final version of the Single Market Act at the next ‘Business meets MEPs’ event at the Hotel Phoenicia in Floriana, today.
This is the third event in the series of business seminars organised by the Malta Business Bureau.
The Times deputy business editor Joanna Ripard will interview Mr Grech on: ‘The relaunch of the single market and what it means for business’. A number of issues related to some of the 50 proposals published by the European Commission last autumn in its communication on the Single Market Act will be addressed. The final version of the Act was launched last month.
The interview will be followed by an open-floor discussion with representatives from the local business community.
Mr Grech will be asked about the progress made by the Single Market Act’s aim to remove obstacles to trade within the European market and on how his report helped shape the Commission’s proposals on the Act.
The event will be helpful to all businesses operating in Malta and Gozo seeking to understand the impact of the new legislation on SMEs and the private sector. Business people will be able to voice their concerns with Mr Grech in an open forum. Proceedings, to be held in English, start at 3 p.m. and end at 5.30 p.m. Registrations may be made at info@mbb.org.mt or on 2125 1719.
