Liberté, égalité, fraternité.
Forget our neutrality - That was only put in the constitution because of some leverage the MLP wanted when there was the undemocratic situation regarding parliamentary Chairs and Percentage Votes. The prime minister then was IZ - Zero.
As Christians we are duty bound to help our Neighbour in Need.
Free Libya - Bring her into the fold of Democracy and do away with tyranny.
LIBERTE - Vive le France !!!

On 31.03.79 Malta was free from a British Colony and the first naval vessel to enter Malta at the Malta Drydocks was the Libyan Patrol Craft TOBRUK on 16.05.79 followed by Large Patrol Craft KHAWLAN and MERAWA on 24.05.79 apart from the Libyan Arab Republic Air Force (LARAF) established a detachment on Malta on 30 January 1975!!!
As every time a naval vessel or a military aircraft comes on our soil we always come out with NEUTRALITY of which has got nothing to do, better open our minds and change it into MENTALITY!!!!!

Dear Lawrence, or shall I say (wenzu) Malta chose NEUTRALITY as not to remain a slave to a foreign power. By your reckoning you prefer to return to the bad old days when Maltese were regarded as second rate citizens in their own country. Good luck to you and to all those who think like you.

@Wenzu Vella
I mentioned the old bad days cause everyone seems to forgot what the Maltese have passed but ships coming at Malta Drydocks especially Libyan there weren't NEUTRALITY !!!!!
I like naval vessels and I don't mind at all that they are here, so YES WELCOME TO MALTA and VIVE LA FRANCE.... KEEP THEM COMING

@Victor
No, my friend we are so lucky to have with us the Supreme Allied Commander of Europe, Admiral James Stavridis who I assume came over on a surprise visit, after all it is common in the U.S of A. to have surprise visits between friends.
We should ask the Admiral: 'Are you aware we are a neutral country as written in our constitution and we had enough wars on our shores?'
As of lately we are told that NATO planes that run out of fuel or for technical problems are landing, Interestingly enough before last election the battle cry was: 'Flimkien kollox possibli' after election it seem: 'You are the sheep there to follow and do not ask questions as you will get no answer'.

Mr Victor Laiviera

Did they run out of fuel? Or "technical problems"?
Sarcasm apart - is Malta still a democratic, constitutional country, or is it not?
That is what we should be asking ourselves.

Another thing Tony, feel free to live under a rock all your life long. Thank goodness most youth today are more conscious and less likely to get affected by the brainwashing you've had from your earlier government.

First military planes landing at our airport and now battleships in our grand harbor - I don't think these visits make Malta look very neutral!
Mr Henry Spiteri
Jun 14th 2011, 13:20
@Ramon Zammit: Neutral from whom may I ask?
Christian Sciberras
Jun 14th 2011, 15:12
Actually, it doesn't relate one bit to neutrality.
As I've said time and time again, neutrality doesn't mean "military handicapped"!!!
