If people are to be encouraged to leave their cars at home and use the new buses, the time factor is of primary importance. At present a circular bus route No 64 takes about 45 minutes from Valletta to reach its farthest point, the Halland Hotel area in Tal-Ibraġ. The proposed bus service will no longer be direct, as it entails a bus change from Valletta, stopping at Pembroke with a wait of up to 30 minutes for the circular Pembroke bus. Hardly an improvement on the old service!
Why weren’t the local councils consulted about the new routes?
