Hollywood star couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie arrived in Malta yesterday afternoon.

Accompanied by their six children, the celebrated couple dodged the media on their arrival from Los Angeles on board a private aircraft, as they exited the airport escorted by police through the VIP area in cars with tinted windows.

Pitt is in Malta for the filming of World War Z, a film he is producing. Based on Max Brooks’ novel, World War Z is set 10 years after the human victory over a worldwide zombie epidemic and tells a retrospective story about the invasion from the various viewpoints of those who survived the conflict that almost eradicated humanity.

Valletta and the Three Cities are among the locations slated for the Malta shoot.

Pitt was last in Malta in 2003 for the filming of the epic Troy in which he played Achilles.

Oscar-winning actress Jolie was expected to fly out of Malta last night, before returning to join her husband and children later in the week.
