A centre for eno-gastronomical studies has opened at the Institute of Tourism Studies at St George’s Bay.
The main objectives of this centre are to provide students and academic staff with more information, knowledge and awareness of eno-gastronomic related areas, especially through EU funded projects, and to promote and encourage the use of local produce.
The theme on the opening night was local produce. The campus was creatively decorated with feast decorations and stalls.
Food prepared by the students included pulpetti tal-makku (white bait patties), torta tal-marmurat (chocolate and almond tart), ġelat tas-sagħtar (wild thyme ice-cream) and pastizzi, among others.
Wine was provided by Marsovin, Delicata, Camilleri Wines, Meridiana, Montekristo and Ta’ Mena.
Food and wine were served by ITS students wearing Maltesetraditional costumes.
