Student gaming award

University students who have worked on a gaming related dissertation are invited to submit a copy of their dissertation to Betsson Malta Ltd in order to be considered for this year’s Betsson Award, comprising a cash prize of €1,500.

Applicant must have submitted the dissertation as part of work towards a degree at the University of Malta. Dissertations from all disciplines are welcome irrespective of the year they were completed, as long as the research relates in some way to gaming.

All submissions must be sent in soft copy (pdf format) to e-mail: studentawardmalta@betsson.com, together with a single page document providing the participant’s contact details and explaining the contribution of the dissertation to the field of gaming.

Dissertations previously submitted should not be re-submitted. The deadline for submission is July 12.

The submissions will be assessed on the basis of their new research, relevance, applicability to theory and practice, demonstration of knowledge, analytical ability, and the extent to which the dissertation is stimulating and challenging.

The best candidates will be selected and invited to present their work to the panel at an event open to the public, which will be held towards the end of September. The prize will be awarded at the event to the winning candidate.

The winner will be selected on the basis of both the dissertation and presentation.

For further information e-mail Hillevi Stuhrenberg at Betsson on hillevi.stuhrenberg@betsson.com.
