Malta Enterprise has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Euro-Mediterranean Centre for Business Co-Operation in Valencia.
Known as ‘Medvalencia’, the centre incorporates the Valencian regional government, the Confederation of Employers and Industries of Spain and the Confederation of Employers and Industries of the Autonomous Region of Valencia,.
The agreement will see Malta Enterprise and Medvalencia work closely to promote two-way business relations and investment.
The organisations have agreed to organise investment-related visits, seminars, training courses and workshops in Malta and Spain, encourage networking and synergy between Spanish and Maltese companies, and to promote exchanges and co-operation in various sectors.
They also agreed to exchange information on investment opportunities and trends to facilitate increased cooperation between private sector companies, and identify suitable joint venture partners for the purpose of joint foreign direct investment opportunities.
All initiatives will be reviewed regularly.
Upon signing the agreement, Malta Enterprise executive chairman Alan Camilleri highlighted how Spanish companies can take advantage of the trade and investment opportunities that Malta offered.
Malta Enterprise, he said, is to appoint a regional leader to focus specifically on supporting business relations with Spain.
