Two young men are expected to be arraigned today after the police said they found more than 850 ecstasy pills hidden in a Qormi confectionary.

The police said they had been observing the movements of a 25-year-old man from Qormi who they believed was trafficking drugs. On Thursday night, Drug Squad officers stopped the man, who was with a 19-year-old man from Qormi. The older man was carrying 150 ecstasy pills, they said.

The police then searched several areas frequented by the man including a nearby confectionary. There they found about 850 pills in a plastic bag.

The operation was led by Police Inspector Victor Aquilina.
