Between 2005, when the relevant legislation came into effect, and 2010 there were 370 companies that moved their operations to Malta.

Answering a parliamentary question by Anton Refalo, Finance Minister Tonio Fenech said no distinction was made about which towns in Malta and Gozo the foreign companies moved to or registered their offices.

Neither were separate registers kept for the two islands. There was only one register.
