Megabyte and Microsoft recently organised the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Seminar at the Corinthia St. George’s Bay. Panos Gikas from Microsoft provided an overview of Microsoft Dynamics CRM together with the perks of implementing this system within a business.

Customers are the key part of a successful business and Microsoft Dynamics CRM will enable the business to effectively manage the customer life cycle – from marketing to sales to service – which is critical to every company’s profitability and growth.

Maria Magro from Megabyte provided insight into the locally-based hosted CRM, which implies having full functionality of Microsoft Dynamics CRM over the internet. This means that one may access Microsoft Dynamics CRM anywhere with web access and at any time. Hosted CRM is “always on,” making it easy to grow one’s business and support remote workers and locations, or a highly mobile sales or service team. This is because the people can access the cloud any time, day or night, from any browser, desktop, or mobile device around the globe, 24x7.

Megabyte teamed up with BMIT, a leading provider of premium network independent data centres in Europe, to make use of their locally situated data centres.

BMIT’s facilities are connected to pan-European carrier-grade networks, ensuring 24 hours a day, 365 days a year support and monitoring of systems, network and infrastructure. Megabyte is the first company in Malta to offer this service, a service which includes numerous advantages.

The financial advantage of hosted CRM is that a company pays on a quarterly basis, unlike conventional on-premise systems where major up-front investment in licenses, hardware and software need to be made. Hence, the business will benefit from better cash flow and far greater IT flexibility.

Moreover, upgrades, maintenance, and system administration are managed by Megabyte, so clients do not have to spend nights or weekends supervising a new version upgrade or a failed server. Also, for many companies, the level of security and availability, disaster recovery and back-up provided by a hosting partner far exceeds that which can be provided by the company itself.

The seminar was wrapped up by Rainer van Beckum Megabyte CEO.
