The Malta Cultural Institute will be presenting its concluding concert for the season on Sunday.
The first part of the evening will be in the hands of the Marie Therese Vassallo Voice Studio. Their programme will consist of well-known excerpts from light opera, operetta, and standard classics. The soloists are guest soprano Rosabelle Pavia, mezzo-sopranos Marie Therese Vassallo and Vanessa Magro, contralto Miriam Camilleri, tenors Paul Gatt and Mario Pisani and baritone Marvic Aquilina. The 45-strong Voice Studio Choir will be singing throughout this part of the programme. The accompaniment will be provided by pianists Rita Paris and Michael Aquilina and piano accordionist Charles Axiak.
After a short interval there will be a 15-minute performance of Flamenco dancing by the Alegria Academia & Dance Company. This will be an unusual, exciting and innovative presentation in an MCI concert.
The last part of the evening will be presenting Russian singer and teacher Marina Lomakina and her student Maria Ginzgamer, who is only 11 years old.
